14 Years of Harvest Moon

So as of 2012 we enter the 14th year of Harvest Moon, I was unaware of this until I read the Happy New Year post on Natsume.com it reads

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Natsume fans, especially our loyal Harvest Moon fans around the world, for their enthusiasm and dedication to the series over the past 14 years! Thanks to all of you, this unique, non-violent, heartfelt life-simulation has grown from a niche series into a widely recognized franchise played by people of all ages!"

I sadly have not be playing Harvest Moon for 14 years, this is only my 8th year of playing Harvest Moon games. I got my start in 2004 when I saw Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life reviewed on Judgement Day (Also known as Reviews on the Run). I saw the game and thought it looked fun so when I got the chance I went and bought it.

I was love at first play for me and as soon as I put it down I wanted to play more.

I few months after that I was at a garage sale and I saw a copy of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town for fifty cents. I bought that game, went home, and started to fall in love with a new girl.

Later I would buy a used copy of Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland for about five bucks. I loved this game for a lot of reasons, I'll go into those in my review of the game though. I also found out yesterday that it is now on PSN making it much more accessible for everyone, not just people like me who never got rid of a game or console.

These days I'm still buying up older games and getting the new ones. My next planned video game purchase is a copy of Tale of Two Towns as soon as I find a copy that's not for the 3DS, I don't own one I don't really want to own one.
